The use of simulation technologies in the medical curriculum has dramatically grown and taken on an ever more important role. To support and expand this trend, UCSD School of Medicine's Division of Medical Education has opened a new Simulation Center. Temporarily housed in the north end of University Center Building 301, this facility will serve our undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs until the planned Medical Education Center is realized.
The Simulation Center is currently equipped with a variety of "partial task trainers" and diagnostic /monitoring equipment. Other equipment currently available includes:
- Joint Injection Trainers
- Thoracentesis & Paracentesis Trainers
- Lumbar Puncture Trainers
- Vascular Access Trainers
- Anatomic Models
