The use of simulation technologies in the medical curriculum has dramatically grown and taken on an ever more important role. To support and expand this trend, UC San Diego School of Medicine's Division of Medical Education opened the Simulation Training Center. This facility will serve our undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs in the new Medical Education & Telemedicine building that opened in September 2011.
The Simulation Training Center is currently equipped with a variety of "partial task trainers" and diagnostic /monitoring equipment. Other equipment currently available includes:
- Joint Injection Trainers
- Thoracentesis & Paracentesis Trainers
- Lumbar Puncture Trainers
