Become a UC San Diego Neuroscience Outreach Volunteer

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student at UC San Diego, Salk or Scripps with a background in neuroscience? Are you interested in sharing your knowledge about the brain with others in the community? If so, the Neuroscience Outreach program encourages you to consider becoming a volunteer. No previous experience is necessary! Send us an email if you’re interested in becoming a volunteer and we’ll add you to our mailing list.

Also, please subscribe to the Outreach E-mail List.

Please follow these simple steps before your Outreach visit:

  1. Notify a member of the organizing committee if would like to volunteer for an event or would like to use the outreach materials.  Make sure your event is added to the Outreach Calendar!
  2. Make sure brains are safely stored for transport and that there is adequate alcohol in each brain container.
  3. Following your visit, return materials promptly so they are available for the next event. Notify Laura Sancho if there are any damages or supplies needing replacement (gloves, paper towels, alcohol, etc).
  4. If you would like to receive reimbursement for gas for your outreach visit, complete and submit the Mileage Reimbursement Form (doc) and e-mail it to the Neurosciences Graduate Program at  Neurograd@ucsd.edu.
