Our research examines molecular mechanisms underlying immune-cell development and effector functions and assesses their contributions to immune pathologies in mouse models of colitis and multiple sclerosis.

Research Focus Areas:

Focus Area #1: To assess the contributions of RNA-helicases and their associated ncRNAs to host immune homeostasis and autoimmune pathologies.

Focus Area #2: To dissect non-canonical functions for nucleoporins in immunity.

Focus Area #3: To uncover the tissue-specific post-transcriptional and post-translational mechanisms that orchestrate local immune responses in animal autoimmune disease models of colitis and multiple sclerosis.
