With over 80 full-time faculty, the UCSD Department of Emergency Medicine provides care for nearly 120,000 patients annually at 3 Emergency Departments - level 1 trauma center, NIH Cancer Center, and rural critical access hospital. Residency Program


We recruit 9 residents per year for a 4-year period and total of 36 residents in a PGY 1-4 format. Our program involves UCSD Medical Center, Tri-City Medical Center, Palomar Medical Center, Rady Children's Hospital, and ​El Centro Regional Medical Center​.
