​The Department of Family Medicine and Public Health (FMPH) at UC San Diego (UCSD) offers a doctoral degree in Biostatistics. Beginning in Fall 2016, this new UCSD graduate program is an interdepartmental program housed within the Department of FMPH, in the School of Medicine.

Admitted Student Day

CSD Biostatistics Division welcomes students admitted to the PhD program for Fall of 2017 as they visit and learn more about our Program!

Public Health Research Day

Biostatistics PhD Students will be presenting posters at the Institute of Public Health’s  Annual Public Health Research Day.  Program Director, Dr. Loki Natarajan will be a Key Note Speaker.  More information can be found here.

As a reminder, admissions will be accepted September 1, 2016- January 9, 2017, We expect to provide a stipend and tuition to selected students for the duration of their studies.

About the Program

​The PhD in Biostatistics program incorporates core faculty from FMPH’s Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, the Statistics group within the Department of Mathematics, and faculty from computer sciences within the Jacobs School of Engineering. A terminal en route Master’s degree will be offered to qualifying students who fail to complete the PhD.
