Teacher Spotlight - January 2016

David Lehman, M.D.David Lehman, M.D., H.S., Associate Clinical Professor

“My interests in psychiatry, from an educational perspective, primarily involve getting residents engaged in the foundational questions inherent in modern psychiatry. These questions include problems with nosology, psychopharmacologic limitations, the tension between biological psychiatry and narrative psychiatry, and psychiatry as it relates to the human condition itself. I take a special interest in the history of psychiatry as it relates to these questions. The best part of teaching is engaging residents in this dialogue; it helps me become a wiser practitioner.”
