Research Focus

Dr. Cerviño's research efforts has been focused on the application of engineering to the advancement of medical imaging and radiation oncology. Her main focus of research is in image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), including applications of surface imaging, development of motion management techniques, and image-guided brachytherapy. Dr. Cerviño is also interested on the improvement of efficacy of quality and safety checks in the clinic.

Laura Cerviño PhD

Following completion of her PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Dr. Cerviño completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in Radiology at UC San Diego, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Physics at UC San Diego in the Department of Radiation Oncology. She currently serves as the Technology Service Chief for both Breast and Gynecologic Cancers, and for Motion Management.
