Medical Student Research Fellowship

The Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences at UC San Diego is excited to offer a comprehensive year-long research fellowship for current Medical Students. 

Overview
Fellows will work closely with faculty mentors within the Department of Radiation Medicine in a 12-month research fellowship. Our faculty engage in a wide array of clinical, basic science, and translational research with a special focus on the following disciplines: imaging research, radiation biology, health outcomes research, and clinical trials. The research year and faculty mentorship team will be chosen to align with the fellow's research interests and background.

Eligibility
Applicants should be currently enrolled in an accredited medical school, having completed at least 1 year of school.

Funding
Students who enroll in the program will receive a $32,000 stipend, plus a $5,000 allowance for health insurance, and a $3,000 allowance for research-related expenses including travel to scientific meetings.


Application
Applications for the 2018-2019 fellowship will be accepted through Friday, February 23rd, 2018. Applicants will be notified in March, 2018, and the fellowship will start in the summer.
