Locating Articles and Abstracts

  • Full text of articles owned by UCSD are accessible via PubMed. Always use the UCSD link to PubMed. Read more about the advantages of using the UCSD link to PubMed.
  • If the journal is not owned by UCSD, enter the citation information into Citation Linker to request the article from another UC campus. Only use this option if the article is not owned by UCSD.
  • Search for urology abstracts presented at the AUA annual meeting and other conferences with the links provided on the Division of Urology's Meetings & Abstracts page.

Shortcut to Full-Text Articles

Published articles are assigned a permanent digital object identifier (doi). You can go straight to the online text of an article by entering the doi at the DOI Foundation website, or by adding the doi to the end of the URL http://dx.doi.org/

For example: http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2010.09357.x

If you cannot link to an article directly from PubMed, change your display settings to MEDLINE. Search the page for "doi" and copy and paste the number into the DOI Foundation website.

Off-Campus Access

UCSD faculty, staff, and students can obtain remote access to the university's online library resources. Visit the UCSD libraries website for instructions on accessing online journals and databases off campus.
