About ARC

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides administrative support services for faculty, academics, scholars, and department liaisons in the areas of recruitment, appointment, academic reviews, personnel administration, and compensation.

ARC’s mission is provide expert, timely service and objective advice for faculty, academics, and scholars as they work to fulfill the UCSD mission of groundbreaking research, inspired teaching, and clinical service.

Scholar Appointments

The Scholar Appointments team specializes in the appointment, reappointment and visas for Postdoctoral Scholars, Visiting Scholars and Visiting Graduate Students.

Personnel Administration

Manager: Adriana Long

The Personnel Administration team specializes in onboarding, off-boarding, leaves of absence, MPS staff physician contracts, layoffs and reductions in time, and Clinical Non-Salaried and Voluntary faculty appointment file preparation.

Reviews and New Appointments

Manager: Kim James

The Reviews and New Appointments teams specialize in academic reviews (merits, promotions, and accelerations above-scale, off cycle), new appointments for faculty and academics (project scientists, research scientists, and visiting faculty), and returning retirees (RTAD).

Compensation and Timekeeping

Manager: Han Ho

Compensation and Timekeeping specializes in fiscal year salary implementations, fund changes, PPS updates, salary analyses and timekeeping.

Performance and Systems

Manager: Adriana Long

Performance and Systems specializes in the development and maintenance of ARC systems (Service Now, Online Personnel Information System, iShare) as well as process optimization and client engagement.
