Conflict of Commitment
APM 671 is the University of California policy on conflict of commitment and outside activities and the disposition of income earned from outside professional activities. The policy provides guidance for the identification and management of outside professional activities in order to avoid conflicts of committee, while ensuring that Health Sciences Compensation Plan (HSCP) participants may engage in a wide array of outside activities without unnecessary limitations.
Health Sciences Safety & Lighting Concerns
For over 20 years,
UC San Diego Police Department in conjunction with CARE at the
Sexual Assault Resource Center have conducted the Annual Lighting Survey Walks across campus. An announcement is sent to all UC San Diego employees requesting that all concerns regarding lighting on campus be reported. Each comment and location is reviewed during the walk. Representatives from the following departments participate in the walks: Police Department, Facilities Management, Transportation Services, Auxiliary and Plant Services, Residential Life, EH&S, Housing Dining Hospitality, Campus Planning, Libraries and CARE @ SARC.
The Office of Faculty Affairs promotes this safety awareness opportunity Health Sciences faculty by asking all to reply with any safety and lighting concerns, regardless of location. An official response, documenting the concerns of HS faculty, is sent to the UC San Diego Police Department and the
HS Office of Physical Resource Management and Capital Asset Strategies.

Reaffirmation of UC San Diego's Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment
Chancellor Khosla's announcement to all academics, staff and students discussing UC San Diego's commitment to creating and maintaining a community where all individuals can work and learn together in an atmosphere free of sexual harassment and sexual violence. UC San Diego does not tolerate sex offenses in any form, including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
